this one is something i got a liking for:
FIGHTING MACHINE
Posted Image
think Real Steel(feel and atmostphere) meets Robot Wars(its freedom of creation and diversity in tactics), in a future where energy is freely manipulated for any means by any means like magic
although me thinks this be a funner concept

CREATION RESTRICTIONS
-there is a size restriction, it should not exceed the size of a 4 meter cube, or in more relative terms should not exceed a box made of of 2 human heights at the edges :3d-env:
-your bot can have a maximum of 3 weapons/abilities in its arsenal

CREATION OPTIONS
-you can build your bot in any configuration, humanoid, wheels, tripod, insectoid, feline, snake, etc as long as it does not conflict with the restrictions
-propulsion and motor systems such as pistons, servos, and pumps are not taken into account so just go with what you wish to make
-you can use any weapon you wish as long as it does not clash with the restrictions
-weapons can be internal or external as long as it is explained in the form of a description
-the technology is assumed to be advanced to the point it is almost magical, so a fantasy themed bot is viable

CREATION REQUIREMENTS
-an original bot
-name of bot
-description of its fictional history and capabilities
-1 default pose, turnabout if you want
-minimally 1 action pose, turnabout if you want

TECHNICAL RESTRICTIONS
-3000 tris
-512 by 512 pixel texture

PREFERENCES

deadline: end of october

@laparen awesome contest idea but you should increase the texture size, as most of us don't use pixel textures and 3000 tris mean we can add a lot of detail, other than that awesome :D

So I cant draw fullstop this was just me literally really rough(5 mins or so) brain storming the final result will be a lot less cartoony but may use some ideas from this. Also it will be a lot more detailed and larger as I am ok with 3D art lol just not 2D
Edit: dont look at the spoiler unless you want to see terrible sketches lol
Spoiler: click to toggle

@ryslke, very ironmonger like

im making use of this old idea, and i mean old, this was 2 yrs ago, i have some changes i intend to make to it though in the modeling texturing stage, anyways, main highlight is the weapon
Posted Image
heres the revised concept, influenced by medabots
Posted Image
and the current model, following a PS1 style, playing Wild-Arms on my PSP kinda influenced my modeling style.
i realise old games that utilised 3D in its graphics are not continous meshes. maybe skeletons didnt exist back then and the only way to animate models was rotating meshes? dunno, just a guss, anyways, followign that observation, ahrd to make a bunch of boxes look part of a whole must say, robots are easier at least, but creatures and other biologicals must have been hard to do with that method
Posted Image
and a pose, probably from this you know how the arm unwinds
Posted Image
another pose showing the retracted arm in use
Posted Image
the model doesnt have a skeleton, its just playing with pivot rotations, its surprisingly fun

@rsylke awesome concept sketches

This is the start of my model as I cant really sketch well so my concept is more a very early version of the model going for a scary clown look for my robot
